Broadband task force to present recommendations

The Minnesota Ultra High-Speed Broadband Task Force will release recommendations Friday to Gov. Tim Pawlenty and the Legislature on the creation of statewide goals for ultra high-speed broadband access and recommendations for its implementation by 2015.

A joint legislative hearing on the recommendations will begin at 11 a.m. in Room G-15 of the State Capitol.

Members of the House Telecommunications Regulation and Infrastructure Division and the Senate Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications Committee will discuss the task force’s recommendations.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Rep. Sheldon Johnson, DFL-St. Paul, and Sen. John Doll, DFL-Burnsville.
